The Green Girls and Project Save Our Surf(PSOS)have teamed up for our very first NFT project. The project is dubbed as PSAWSG². The art collection was created by Apple Levy.
Inspired by empowered women with the same passion and mission of taking care of our planet, each PSAWSG² NFT feature several unique traits including eye colors inspired by earth's natural crystals. Nature-inspired skins of the women include forest, water, earth and the rare golden fire. Each outfit pattern was individually hand drawn and some hand painted by Apple. Some images also feature rare Project Save Our Surf surf suits.

To drastically reduce the energy consumption of the PSAWSG² NFT, our collection will live in the Polygon ecosystem.
TheGreenGirls.com will also include a marketplace on the Polygon network where PSAWSG² NFT holders can trade or resell their PSAWSG² NFT. Due to the massive amount of CO2 emissions produced by transactions on the Ethereum network, we encourage our holders to minimize network interaction with Etherium and refrain from using Opensea to trade or resell until the Ethereum network shifts to proof-of-stake later this year.
Carbon Emission Research
According to Polygon, minting a single NFT on Polygon produces about 66 grams of CO2. The vast majority of those emissions will disappear when Ethereum switches to PoS in just a few months. This essentially means that “Ethereum’s electricity consumption will literally over a day or overnight drop to almost zero.” says Michel Rauchs, a research affiliate at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance.Carbon Emission Calculation
- 1 NFT Mint(66 grams of CO2)and other transaction= 1,000 Grams of CO2Record wildfire seasons in recent years have destroyed millions of trees in forests around the country. It is imperative that these forests are replanted within a reasonable time after a fire, insect infestation, disease, or weather takes its toll. If there is too much delay, invasive species of trees and brush that are fire-prone could take over, wildlife will not have critical habitat, and critical watershed areas will no longer be able to provide clean water. More detailed information on why replanting trees are vital at OneTreePlanted.org
Oceans cover 71 percent of the globe, and they are as important to us as they are vast. Our oceans are home to most of the life on our planet and play a central role in the world’s natural systems, like regulating our climate and absorbing carbon dioxide. They provide livelihoods to countless fishermen and others around the world. They also feed hundreds of millions of people and have the capacity to provide a healthy seafood meal to a billion people, every day.
