– Helping People and the Environment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 10, 2011

Havre de Grace, MD. – New website launched to make helping people and environment easy. With high employment and the worse economy we have ever seen we are deeply concerned by how many people in the US are suffering. We remember the days when people who fell on hard times could depend on family, friends and neighbors to get them through life’s rough patches. We believe if given the chance people will still step up and help when they see others in need. provides a free and easy way for people to give things they no longer need or want to people in need. Simply put is a classified system for giving things away. It’s location based. The site is organized around the concept of helping people that are in the same geographic location as you. We believe that when people see how these simple acts of giving to neighbors builds a stronger community that they will give more and further strengthen their communities.

Since these items are reused we keep them out of landfills. It helps people and the environment at the same time.

Additionally, we offer non-profit organizations free storefronts on the site to tell people about their mission and about what they need to better service those they help. For example – If a local soup kitchen needs paper plates or pots and pans they can use the site to inform the community of their needs.

We know the success of the site is dependent on a strong and vibrant user community. We depend on our users to help direct us on how best to serve them. We are currently seeking volunteer community leaders to help us raise the level of awareness about the site and help us to organize around the country.

We hope this will give people a reason to clean out their attics, basements and garages and to take those things that they no longer need and give them to their neighbors!

About saw a need to provide a free and easy to use site so people could help the less fortunate in their communities. The website was launched on January 3, 2011. Everything on the site is free to use for givers, receivers and non-profit organizations.
