POM Watermelon Granita with Lavender Whipped Cream

What better way than to refresh during this blazing hot summer than with a super simple fruit granita!

Serves 4


  • 16 oz. POM Wonderful
  • 5 cups watermelon, cubed (about ¼ large watermelon)
  • Lavender Whipped Cream (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lavender (about 4 sprigs)
  • 2 tablespoons tablespoons honey 


For the granita, puree POM Wonderful and watermelon together in a blender.  Pour mixture into a freezer-safe Tupperware.  Choose something wide and flat that will freeze faster and be easy to scrape the surface.  Freeze overnight and scrape surface with a spoon to form flakes.  Spoon mixture into glasses and serve. 

For the Lavender Whipped Cream, add lavender to heavy whipping cream and infuse in an airtight container in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.  Strain lavender from whipping cream, add honey and whip to medium firm peaks.  Garnish with fresh lavender.
