Getting ready for an eco Mom’s Day

Mother's Day is approaching and it's a biggie for us since we're a mother-daughter team and both of us are moms. With this in mind, we'll be offering lots of ideas for celebrating this meaningful holiday in eco-friendly ways.

Since the economy is on everyone's minds, we'll start with some meaningful gifts that cost little but maybe a bit of time and creativity.(And some of them don't even require that!)

Ecards are, of course a no-cost, earth-friendly way to tell your mom you adore her. Here are some we love not only because they happen to have been designed for our Celebrate Green! fans, but because they are simple, elegant, yet mean so much.

Digital scrapbooking is all the rage and with free templates available all over the internet, it's easy to slip in your own photos and come up with a gift mom will treasure. Lynn has been doing this for years and has turned out a half dozen inspiring books. But you don't have to pay for books. You can print out the pages at home or even create free online slide shows, then send them to your mom. The latter costs nothing at all.

Here are a few pages from one of the Lynn's digital books. Maybe they'll inspire you to do the same for your mom.

And below is a video that will not only get you in the Mother's Day mood and remind you what the holiday is about, but it will make a wonderful gift for your mom. Feel free to share it with whomever might enjoy and appreciate it. Just get out the tissue before you watch.
