Enzymes, Raw Foods & Recipes! Oh, My!

Food enzymes are found naturally in raw food and help digest those foods so nutrients are absorbed in the bloodstream. However, food enzymes are destroyed when heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit. Without these enzymes, our digestive system work harder. According to an article
on Extraordinary Health Magazine  cooked food can take up to 2-3 times longer to pass the digestive system than raw foods.

Fresh Fruit Salad (serves 2-4)

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 papayas
  • 1 cup of seedless grape
  • 2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 sliced kiwi

Tummy Tamer Rich w/ Enzymes

  • 2 C coconut water
  • 1/2 C fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 C fresh or frozen
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • few fresh leaves of mint

Enzyme Smoothie (Raw Vegan)

  • 1 cup chopped papaya (fresh & ripe)
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple (fresh & ripe)
  • 1 frozen banana
