Climate Community Award Winners Carry Olympic Torch

As the Olympic games are now in full swing, we want to take a moment to recognize two amazing young women Laura Webber and Alison Lerner. Both Alison and Laura were recently in Calgary to help carry the Olympic Torch as recognition by Coke of the valuable contribution both have made in the effort to protect our planet.

It is both humbling and gratifying to know that both of these young women are recent Climate Community Citizen of the Week Award Winners. When we set out to create this site it was our hope to meet interesting young people trying to do the right thing for our planet. In that regard we have exceeded our expectations. All of the young people we have come in contact with have been amazing and wonderful. All of the young people we have had as award winners and writers stand out within their communities as exceptional for the work and care that they have, and provide towards the betterment of our planet.

So, it is with great joy that we congratulate both Laura and Alison for the special recognition they have been given in carrying the Olympic Torch – a symbol of – the best in mankind! Great job, keep it going! (and Alison – Fight On!!!)
