On July 18th, I had my 3rd benefit for Green Wave called Safari Soiree. The party was held only three weeks after the first leg of The Crystal Method tour I was on, and only one week after I got back from Costa Rica.

To make the party happen I had brought in an extraordinary team together to assist with planning including Heidi Luerra of Humanitaire and Heidi Luerra Productions, my co-model this month on Girl on Top Monica Salazar who is of the Green Addict group and producer of San Diego Earthdance now the SOCAL Earthdance, celebrity stylist and Green Wave Ambassador, Phu Styles, Green Wave Ambassador Kim Knight of Kim Knight Productions, Green Wave Ambassador Laura Rankin of Green with Envy Events, and Green Wave Ambassador Hope Latimer who so generously brought in her amazing artist Travis Brooks to do a piece of live art that would go towards our silent auction.

We themed the party to match the cause which was to help fund the collaborative project I have going with NextAid in Kenya, the Green Wave House / Sanctuary for Children. The event turned out amazing thanks to everyone that came out and I could not have even had the opportunity if it were not for the amazing Kimberly Roussell, one of the owners of Cinespace who so generously invited me into her annual party and basically let us attach a benefit to it). It was Kim that got David Boyle to perform as well as booking incredible cirque performer and snake dancer. I will take credit for getting DJ Eva though ;)

Apple the original Green Girl Guru herself, graced us with her presence as well as Curtis Dinsmore of The Green Seed Project and so we were able to get great coverage of the event which will help my baby organization grow. Huge thanks to Anheuser-Busch, Fillip our Vodka sponsor, Frey, our wine sponsor, and the N9NE Group for their generous donations. We had a great party and were able to raise over a $1000 towards the housing project while raising eco-awareness and the AIDs crisis in Africa. We still have a little ways to go, and I look forward to continuing to work with Lauren, co-founder of NextAid on her incredible project in Kenya.
