The program is designed to celebrate and reward non-profits whose efforts are focused on lasting, positive change. The goal is to have all 50 states submit at least one non-profit in need of funding for their programs.

Toms of Maine will open up its funding process to the broader community and have a public vote direct $100,000 towards projects that help us take care of each other and the world we share. Toms of Maine wants to give the public the power to choose which five non-profits it will support with $20,000 each.

To launch the 50 States for Good initiative, Toms of Maine has created a virtual hub at http://www.50statesforgood.com/ where applications for participation are available through August 30 to all qualifying 501 (c)(3) organizations. After the submission phase, online voting by the public will determine which five projects will receive $20,000 each.
