Worldwide there are more than 33 million people infected with HIV and more than 15 million children orphaned by AIDS. In the Barkar Hangar in the Santa Monica Air Center, a Halloween celebration like no other raised nearly $1 million for The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation.
With big names like Jamie Lee Curtis, Jada Pinkett Smitth & Willow Smith hosting the event, the tone was set for a successful night. Wilmer Valderrama, Jason Priestley, Melina Kanakaredes, Doris Roberts, Angela Bassett and Kim Fields were also in attendance to help raise money for this great cause.
A live auctioned was held during the event that raised a total of more than $80,000 for children affected by HIV and AIDS included some fun & unique items.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith were presented with one-of-a-kind dolls made in their likeness by Mattel Brands President, Neil Friedman and Gerald Storch, Toys“R”Us, Chairman and CEO. The dolls were later auctioned to benefit the Foundation and raised $20,000. |

A one-of-a-kind Hot Wheels® made with actor Wilmer Valderrama was presented to him by Tim Kilpin, Mattel General Manager and Senior Vice President Boys, Games, Radica and Jason Priestley, last year’s recipient. The Hot Wheels®, which Valderrama donated back to the Foundation, later raised $6,500 at the live auction. |
