My love
for the outdoors and the planet was sparked as a kid – summers of
camping on the Canadian shield and swimming in the Great Lakes, winters
spent skiing and tobogganing (and the many bruises that came with them),
and year-round cruising the neighbourhood on my bright red bike all
played a part.

I even sang a song (horribly off-key) about the
environment on the local breakfast show when I was 9 (I have been
promised that all evidence has been destroyed!). |
Though I
haven’t graced the airwaves with any ditties about being green in a few decades,
my bike is still my vehicle of choice and there is nothing that makes me happier
than jumping into a crisp lake. Yet somewhere along the way I also developed a
love of fashion and shoes, a guilty pleasure evident by the state of my closet.
It took me a long time to see that some of my consumption choices were at odds
with my love for the environment, and so I’m set on a new path to lighten my
footprint. I’m likely to stumble, but I’ll share the tale, trials and
tribulations with you!

Part of
this path has led me to my job as President of Marketing for Ethical
Ocean (www.ethicalocean.com/).
By day I seek out phenomenal products that are good for the planet and
for you. I continue to be amazed by the style, innovation, and design
that keeps pushing boundaries, creating green products that are in no
ways a sacrifice of style or quality.
I also
love distance running, taste testing ice cream in every town I visit,
and traveling (ideally to places with good ice cream of course).
