For a $55 ticket-price, event participants will meander through cabanas on six breathtaking acres to enjoy luxurious free products, spa and beauty treatments from Kerstin Florian, Billion Dollar Brows, OPI, Napoleon Perdis, The California Wellness Institute, Four Seasons Spa and a special appearance by Billy and Melissa Yamaguchi of Yamaguchi Salon who will conduct a Feng Shui beauty seminar while his dedicated style experts provide a mini-makeover.   

Five-star gourmet delights, cooking demos, sampling, mini-seminars, wine and spirit tastings from the best chefs with estate wineries add to the day’s entire epicurean experience. 

Men are very much a part of “Cure in the Canyons”  The Club Car – a special Men’s ultra lounge offers spa treatments, beverages, and  hors d'oerves  just for them with the ability to test drive one of three new 2010 Lexus Luxury Hybrids.  More vendors are being added every day, and attendees will receive a luxurious gift bag upon departure to add to their deluxe samples from the day.

Event Celebrity Co-Chairs are actress/TV personalities, Shannon Tweed, and daughter Sophie Tweed Simmons (stars of A&E’s “Gene Simmons Family Jewels”). Celebrity Co-hosts for “Cure In The Canyons” include actresses Lorraine Toussaint, co-star of “Saving Grace” on TNT, CCH Pounder (Warehouse 13), Catherine Dent (“The Shield”), Marcellus Wiley, “ESPN,” and more TBA. Many of Los Angeles’ prominent residents, as well as several personalities whose lives have been impacted by Breast Cancer, are expected to attend. 

Actress Lorraine Toussaint explains her concern and why research is so important, “I walked through chemo with a friend of mine and saw the devastating effects it had on her. It was almost like the treatment was worse than the disease. We've got to do better. The time for treatment is over. It's time for a cure.”   

“Cure In The Canyons” is a prequel event to “Run 4 Her Life” 5k/ 10k www.run4herlife.com,” this year to be held on Sunday October 18^th at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, CA.  

Funds raised support local California research at USC/Norris Lee Breast Center, USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Michael Press, MD. PhD. and National Research. Grants are awarded as deemed by the Medical Advisory Board to have the most significance in the etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer.  Your participation drives the research. 

Attendees are asked to come early to “Cure in the Canyons” to take advantage of as many product demonstrations and services as possible. Organizers of the event are offering a green incentive for guests who CARPOOL.

We kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by attending Cure In The Canyons II.  We came to this event looking forward to luxurious pampering, but as we spoke to some of the attendees, our focus turned to what this day was really about. Supporting & raising funds for Breast Cancer Research & Awareness.

With close to 700 supporters in attendance, Cure In The Canyons II is a significant event that exemplifies exactly that.
