Fashion Week LA is coming up,
but a few designers previewed their new looks last month. The event was Attire
to Inspire, a fashion show to benefit Breathe LA. Mr. Fashion himself, Nick
Verreos from E! Entertainment and Project Runway hosted the show! The
featured designs came from some of the hottest fashion lines and designers in LA
including: Frankie B., by Daniella Clarke; J.
Steger, by Jason Steger; Eva Franco; and Safir, by Sanaz Afsar.

It was held at Siren Studios on
Sunset. I love going to this place, because they have this great white room on
their top floor that can be transformed into just about anything your
imagination can dream up. This night it was transformed in to a runway fashion
show and cocktail lounge too!
The show had everything from
casual to eveningwear and even bridal wear. Daniella Clark’s funky fashion and
signature Frankie b. jeans were amazing on the runway! Daniella designs for
women like her: laid back, feminine and confident — with a bit of an edge; and
she creates clothing that encourages women to feel alive, stylish, and unique.
She is also married to guitarist Gilby Clarke from Guns and Roses, who was there
to support his beautiful wife.
While the pollution in LA is not
as bad as in China, it’s still a very important issue, especially to those who
have issues with asthma, allergies and lung disease. I had asthma as a child,
but was lucky enough to grow out of it, so this cause was an important issue for
me. It was nice to see the celebrity support there for such a good cause too.
The celebrity guests included Michael Steger (True Blood and 90210), Rick
Malambri (Step-Up 3D), Brea Grant (Heroes, Halloween 2), Johnny Pacar (Make it
or Break it), Alexandra Crosby (Transformers) and more.
I’m glad everyone is on the
bandwagon to recycle and use re-usable bags, but we can’t forget one of the most
important unseen issues, which is clean air. We take it for grated most days
living in beautiful Southern California, but we have to work hard to keep it
that way. Breathe California of Los Angeles’ mission is to promote clean air
and healthy lungs through research, education, and technology. To learn more
about the organization, donate or volunteer please check out their website,

– 2011 Breathe Life Awards.
