8th Annual Global Green Pre Oscar Party

You probably watched the Oscars
last night and saw all the fabulous stars accepting their awards.  What you
probably didn’t see were some of these stars at the Avalon Hollywood attending
8th Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party.  The theme for
the event this year was “Greener Cities for a Cooler Planet.” The Proceeds will
benefit Global Green’s
initiative to promote better solutions to climate change by creating healthy,
green communities.

Matt Peterson and his
staff at Global Green have managed to mix a fun Hollywood party with an
important eco-cause and bring in over 1400 people including celebrities like
photographer Sebastian Copeland, actress Suzy Amis, producer/director James
Cameron, CEO of Global Green USA Matt Petersen, and actress Alison Brie seen

As the stars arrived they got
to view the new
Chevy Volt electric car
that was a sponsor of event, but Baywatch
actress and EV-advocate Alexandra Paul drove her own Volt to the party!
I know this because she was right next me driving home.  Hmmm…maybe we’re

Since this was an eco-event
they had a “green carpet” instead of the usual red. Not only was it green, but
it looked like real grass!  The green carpet was provided by Eco-lux landscaper
Cynthia Kikatavi, who
does designs for HGTV.  It looked great even after the crowds of celebs made
their way into the party in their fabulous dresses and spiky heels.  Here Daphne
Zuniga from One Tree Hill and Melrose Place is wearing a dress that was
reconstructed from an old gown and she chose vintage jewelry as well!  She
looked hot and what a better idea to repurpose a dress than go out and buy a new
one.  She also arrived in her cute Lexis hybrid!

Once inside guests enjoyed the
music of Black Rebel Motorcycle, Portugal the Man, Best Coast
and DJ’s Jeremy Sole and Michael Smith.  Since you didn’t get to
go to the party I thought you might want to see what went on beyond the Green
Carpet.  Sponsors set up stations where you could snack on shot glasses of nuts
from Planters in several flavors, test out Kiehl’s products and if
you were running late you could even get your hair done by Pureology!

The one thing I can’t show you
is what went on behind the VIP room.  I might have been able to get past the
guard on the stairs and I’m sure I could have taken out those two Robert Palmer
girls at the top, but I would never do a thing like that!  Besides, I have to
leave some of the Hollywood glamour to your imagination.

Until next time, keep it
