100% Organic Cocktail Recipe: Fresh Berry Rumtini

"Fresh Berry Rumtini" Organic Cocktail Recipe

Spring is here, so let's celebrate!

Along with warmer weather, Spring brings the beginning of organic berry season to local farmer's markets and grocery stores. To welcome this tasty time, Organic Fit Bar created the "Fresh Berry Rumtini".

Luscious and sweet from the berries, mellow and smooth from the rum, the Fresh Berry Rumtini organic
cocktail makes antioxidants look and taste amazingly sexy!

Fresh Berry Rumtini (serves 1)

- 2 ounces Organic Rum

- 6  Organic Strawberries (medium)

- 6 Organic Blackberries

- 6 Organic Raspberries

- 20 Organic Blueberries

- 1/2 Organic Lime

- 1 ounce Organic Simple Syrup

- lime wheel for garnish

Tools Needed: Juicer*, Cocktail Shaker, Strainer

To prepare the Organic Simple Syrup: Pour 1/3 cup of water
and 1/3 cup of Organic Sugar into a sauce pan. Bring to a boil,
stirring continuously. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat
and let cool.

To make the Fresh Berry Rumtini: Get out that juicer
and juice all of the berries together (if you don’t have a juicer, see
alternative recipe below). Pour the berry juice into a cocktail shaker
and add about 1 cup of ice. Pour 2 ounces of Organic Rum, 1 ounce of
Organic Simple Syrup, and squeeze the juice of 1/2 Organic Lime, over
the ice. Cover and  shake well. Strain the cocktail into a chilled
martini glass.

Garnish with a lime wheel.

 Enjoy!

Health Benefits: Organic Berries are amazingly powerful antioxidants and are an excellent source of vitamins and nutrients wonderful for both mind and body! To see detailed health benefits of organic berries click here

Organic Benefit: Non-organic berries are absolutely
covered in harmful pesticides and are grown using chemical fertilizers and fungicides. By selecting organic berries, you are protecting your health from dangerous chemicals while also protecting the health of others. In fact, individuals who work in non-organic strawberry fields have nicknamed strawberries "the Devil's fruit" because of the many health problems caused by the large amount of sprays used to grow them.

Serving Suggestions: The Fresh Berry Rumtini is a
sweet cocktail with a tropical flare and has a beautiful color that
“pops” at any party or table. If you are making this drink for a cocktail party,
juice the berries just prior to guest arrival and store covered in the
refrigerator so you have plenty, guests will want more than one!

*Juicer Alternative: If you don’t have a juicer, you
can still enjoy this cocktail, but will be missing out on the
full health benefits that juiced berries provide. To make the Fresh Berry Rumtini without a juicer: Place
all of the berries into a cocktail shaker. Muddle the berries well
enough (or use the bottom of a spoon) to release all of the juice from
the berries. Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Pour 2 ounces of
Organic Rum, 1 ounce of Organic Simple Syrup, and squeeze the juice of
1/2 Organic Lime, over the ice. Cover and shake well. Strain the
cocktail into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
